This study guide has almost nothing to do with the book Engineering Design by Pahl et al. The chapters of the guide do not match up with the text, and the key concepts and terms supposedly identified are entirely incidental to Pahl's text. Even if the terms were important to understanding the text, you would get as much benefit out of looking them up on Wikipedia.
Example: this guide identifies Delphi Method and Fourier number (the latter, repeatedly) as two key concepts or terms. Although Pahl does identify the Delphi Method in his introductory historical survey of engineering methodologies, he says it is of limited and specialized application and spends less than a page on it. Fourier number appears in the context of a two specific design applications, where Pahl is giving some background on heat dissipation in order to discuss design considerations/constraints. While Pahl's discussion is useful in understanding some of the design choices, it is not a key concept of the design process and would not be a test topic in a design methodology course. Finally, the guide identifies other concepts and terms that simply do not appear in Pahl's text (e.g. white noise).
Once the guide identifies 5-6 "key" terms, it gives definitions that read very much like Google search results or Wikipedia entries. It then gives an equal number of multiple-choice or fill-in-the-blank questions that are at a junior-high (US) level. If you needed more practice, the guide directs you to a website where you will apparently be charged for similar tests. The next chapter will be similar, perhaps even repeating one or more of the terms from previous chapters.
